RE: TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PROFESSIONAL
VOLUNTEERING
Thank you for deciding to contribute to the work of CRP/BHPI in the capacity
of professional volunteer. To ensure that your time is safe, enjoyable and worthwhile
you are requested to sign a contract and abide by certain rules and regulations.
This contract has been introduced to provide clarity about your role, avoid
misunderstandings and encourage you to feel part of the organisation.
1. Hours of work
45.5 hours per week, but for the benefit of CRP and the patients/BHPI students,
any additional voluntary hours would be appreciated. Professional volunteers
are expected to sign in and out every working day and to work from the various
rooms provided for this purpose.
Saturday - Wednesday CRP: 8am- 1pm and 2pm-6pm
BHPI: 8am-1pm and 2 pm-5pm
Thursday 8am - 1.30pm
1.2 Period of Employment

2. Conflict of Interest
You are discouraged from working in private practice or engaging in other employment
during your period of contract with CRP.
3. Duties
Your duties will be as per attached job description. Additional duties may be
assigned in accordance to the project needs.
4. Annual Leave
You will be allowed 20 days leave per year, exclusive of any approved government
holidays, calculated at the rate of 1.66 days leave per month. For annual leave
purposes Thursday is counted as a full working day. Leave not taken may accumulate
but not exceeding 20 days. Leave should be discussed with your supervisor well
in advance. Teaching staff should avoid taking leave during teaching duties
as this disrupts the continuity of teaching and learning. Professional volunteers
should ensure that a leave form is completed and submitted well in advance.
5. Sick Leave
You shall be entitled to 14 days sick leave per year, calculated at the rate
of 1.16 days per month, provided that a medical certificate as to your illness
and unfitness for work is obtained from a doctor approved by CRP.
6. Unauthorised Leave
If you remain absent beyond the period of leave granted or extended, you shall
be liable to dismissal. Professional volunteers who do no wish to abide by these
rules should consider general volunteering.
7. Dismissal
You may be dismissed without prior notice if:
a) You are convicted of any offence or moral turpitude.
b) CRP finds you guilty of misconduct.
8. Contract Period
Professional volunteers should ensure that supervisors are aware of the duration
of their stay so that replacements (where appropriate) can be sought as early
as possible. Supervisors should also be informed of any date changes/changes
of plan as early as possible.
9. Funding and other benefits
To be discussed on an individual basis.
10. Matters regarding representation of CRP
10.1 Publications of articles and information representing CRP must only be printed following permission from CRP Director.
10.2 Employees must refrain from any acts or words which may bring discredit to the organisation.
10.3 Employees are expected to pay due respect to the religious customs, habits and culture of Bangladesh and to conduct themselves accordingly.
10.4 Employees are expected to dress in a manner appropriate to the assignment.
10.5 Employees must not accept any undertakings other than those specified in their job description, without permission from the CRP Director.
11. Rules and Regulations
You will be bound to observe and to abide by the Rules and Regulations of CRP,
a copy of which is kept at CRP's office and which is available for reference
to all employees.
12. Personal Safety
You should avoid travelling alone, particularly after dark. CRP management cannot
take responsibility for anything which may happen to those who refuse to take
this advice.
