I will be working here at CRP for 3 months and the "Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft" in Germany funds me. I have recently completed my Psychology course and in addition to my studies I work in a home for disabled people. My work here at CRP is mainly focused on teaching Occupational Therapy to students where I concentrate on psychology. I also work with Abdul Zabbar, the counsellor at CRP. In this regard, the case of Fatima was very interesting for me. Fatima is a new female patient and presents a challenging task as she has recently experienced life threatening traumatic events. After making enquiries with the District Commissioner CRP were able to secure her release and she came to CRP-Savar on Christmas Day. Her thoughts and feelings are very confused. Although she has gone through a huge ordeal her character is happy and her infectious laugh is already well known at CRP. In future she will hopefully go to CRP-Gonokbari. This is much better than staying in prison and I think it is another success story for CRP. All these experiences that I am having here at CRP and in Bangladesh are very worthwhile and unique. Thanks to CRP staff for a wonderful time. |
