CRP Founder and Executive Director Pays Courtesy Visit to Bangladesh Army Chief

The Founder of the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP), Valerie Ann Taylor, and CRP Executive Director, Dr. Mohammad Sohrab Hossain, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army, General Waker-Uz-Zaman, at the Army Headquarters in Dhaka.

During the meeting, CRP delegates shared CRP’s journey, achievements, and ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities through comprehensive rehabilitation services, education, vocational training, and community-based programs. They highlighted CRP’s commitment to promoting inclusion, dignity, and equal opportunities for people with disabilities across Bangladesh. General Waker-Uz-Zaman highly appreciated the remarkable dedication and lifelong contribution of Valerie Taylor in establishing and advancing rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities in Bangladesh. He also commended CRP’s longstanding contribution to disability rehabilitation and its role in empowering individuals to lead independent and productive lives.

The discussion also focused on the importance of strengthening support systems for persons with disabilities and exploring potential areas of collaboration to enhance rehabilitation services and social inclusion initiatives. General Waker-Uz-Zaman expressed the importance of widening the reach of rehabilitation services through coordinated efforts by government and non-government organisations, enabling more people in need to benefit from essential rehabilitation and support services.
